In Memory of Melissa Sue Reinford
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Chris Reinford. We are in need of support for the expenses of the memorial services and internment of my sister, Melissa Sue Reinford, who passed away unexpectedly. We are also hoping to be able to help pay some of the bills that will be left behind in this tragedy.
On the morning of September 1, 2022, my sister, Melissa Sue Reinford, was watching my daughter Lorelai as she does every Thursday faithfully at our house. My son, Asher was at preschool. Around 8:52am my sister collapsed from the couch to the floor, partially on top of Lorelai. We only found out when my wife, Chelsea, thought to check on them at her lunch break at 11:30am after not hearing from my sister throughout the day. Thankfully we have a camera. Almost 3 hours Melissa and Lorelai were on the ground where they fell. We rushed home. Paramedics were here and they tried everything. But she was already gone. It has been determined that she suffered a massive heart attack and was quickly gone. God, and Melissa, placed a shield of protection on Lorelai and she is safe.
There may be a lot of questions. Believe us, we understand the shock of what has happened. It is hard to know what to say and what to do. Please give us, her family, some space and privacy as we determine next steps. We will be sure to let all who cared for her know what’s going on and there will be opportunities to share in remembrance of Melissa in the days ahead.
We know this; Melissa loved God, loved her family, loved her fiancé, loved her friends, loved her coworkers, loved her cats… She lived her life full of love for everyone. She is now at peace. She is now holding her son Jayden in the arms of Jesus.
We love you so much Melissa! You will be missed by so many!
Thank you for your prayers, thoughts and privacy at this time.
Love, The Reinford’s

Melissa Sue Reinford passed away at the age of 40 on September 1, 2022 due to a medical emergency. She was doing what she loved, babysitting one of her nieces. This was one of her greatest joys in life. She was the best aunt, sister, fiancé, daughter, friend, and so much more to many people.
Melissa was a gifted hair stylist. She loved the many people she worked with. All of her clients know that she took her time to lovingly care for them and she made extra effort to make sure that their desires were made a reality. She was also a great ear to listen and talk with.
Melissa’s closest family and friends know that she loved everyone. She didn’t have any enemies. She had a huge heart. Because of that, she gave the best hugs and they always came at the right moment.
Melissa spent the last 10 years with her fiancé, Brad Rieker, and their cats in Quakertown, PA. She loved watching Flyers, Eagles, Phillies, and many other sports with Brad, while they also attended sporting events when they could. She loved watching shows and movies, especially all of the Christmas themed ones.
Melissa lived her life full of love for everyone. She is now at peace. She is now holding her son Jayden in the arms of Jesus.
Melissa is survived by her fiancé, Brad Rieker; her parents, Mark and Wendy Reinford; her brothers and spouses, Andrew & Beth, and Chris & Chelsea; her nieces and nephew, Alessandra, Asher, and Lorelai.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Akron Church of the Brethren. A visitation time with family at 10am and Service at 11am followed by a lunch at the church. Flowers can be sent to the church: Akron Church of the Brethren, 613 Main Street, Akron, PA 17501; and contributions can be made here.
