Melissa Clausen-Bergstrom passed away suddenly in her home on Friday, February 13th. Her passing was completely unexpected and has left her family, friends, and all who knew her heartbroken.

Melissa was a beautiful soul who will be deeply missed by so many. For six years, she worked at the Apple Valley American Legion Post 1776, where she built lasting friendships and became like family to coworkers and patrons alike. She was known for her kindness, her warm smile, and her caring heart. Melissa had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and loved.

She is survived by her loving husband, Darrin; her beloved daughter, Lyndsey, who was the light of her life; her devoted mother, Barbara; and her brother, Shane. She also leaves behind extended family members, dear friends, coworkers, and countless others whose lives she touched in meaningful ways.

Melissa had a special love for butterflies, plants, and all things Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Butterflies felt especially fitting for her — a symbol of beauty, transformation, and gentle strength. Her home and heart were always full of life, warmth, and the little things that made her smile.

Because Melissa’s passing was so sudden and unexpected, her family is now facing significant and unforeseen expenses during an already incredibly difficult time. We are asking for financial assistance to help cover funeral arrangements, memorial services, and other costs incurred following this tragic loss.
