As many of you know, Mr. Matt Ployd had been suffered from stage 3 liver failure since last spring. That said, he was on a new drug regiment that seemed to be helping and he'd even recently come back to his beloved job as a history/government teacher at Smithfield High School. We all thought he was doing better - laughing and joking with us again! Sadly, Matt died unexpectedly in his sleep last night (3/25/25).
