My name is Erika, Martha's best friend. It was my privilege to have known her for 20 years. She always treated me like family. I always thought that it was funny how we both were pregnant at the same time and our children were born only a week apart. This was destiny putting an angel in my life. She was the type of person that always gave, even when she didn't have anything to give. She put others in front of herself and her greatest accomplishment is her daughter who is an amazing young lady. She was a passionate Art Teacher who wanted to do more in the field.

She was battling Scleroderma for the past 13 years; unfortunately, she has lost that battle and has passed away. Even when she was in pain she still tried to keep a good spirit and be happy and strong not only for herself, but for those around her. She was an amazing friend, mother, cousin, sister and wife. She leaves her husband and daughter who are currently trying to find peace in this circumstance.
