Mark Solkowski (May 1973 - January 2018)
Mark was a father, a friend, a brother, son, and a mentor to so many of us that he knew. He was bold, enthusiastic, and had a spark for life that not many could compare to.
Mark had the true entrepreneur spirit and was always thinking about his next move. He was an active forestry consultant throughout Alberta, as was an elected member of the CAPFT governing Council and an appointed AAFMP Joint Executive committee member from April 2014 to October 2017 and served as College President from 2015-2016. His contribution to the association was significant, and our community is saddened by his passing.
Over the next couple of weeks, I would like to initiate a fund in Mark's Memory and 100% of donations will be donated to the Mental Health Foundation to help those that are suffering amongst us in silence. Mental illness affects one in five Albertans during their lifetime and takes a significant toll on the health of Albertans, and on the cost of providing healthcare.
