In Memory of Mark Purves

My name is Christina, and I'm a member of the Purveses extended family.

Earlier this week, the Purves family suffered a devastating loss--Mark passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 18.

Mark left an indelible impression on everyone he met. He was larger than life--charming, charismatic, brilliant, and always had a good story to tell and amazing hair to go with it. He was impeccably flawed, deeply human and will be missed by so many who loved him. Mark leaves behind five kids--Eleanor, Ada, Charlotte, Declan and Malcolm and their mom, Ann.

As Ann and the kids navigate the tenuous path ahead, they've got some serious, immediate needs we can help meet. In all honesty, they're in a tough financial situation. Mark died without a will in place, so everything will be tied up in probate for the foreseeable future. This leaves the family facing the harsh reality of covering funeral expenses and surviving on one income for quite some time.

Ann is working full-time in addition to being a new grad student and a single parent of five. We can take some of the weight off her shoulders and help Ann keep her focus on taking care of the kids' emotional and physical health and instead of worrying how they'll pay for a funeral, or make their next rent payment.

Your donations will go directly to covering funeral and memorial costs for Mark; and anything beyond that will be used to help the Purveses cover the expenses that one income alone can't manage--rent, bills, insurance, groceries and medical care.
