In Memory of Mariana: Support for the Paloucek Family

Mariana's last year proved very difficult as she gradually lost her physical abilities to a severe movement disorder and seizures. The complexity of her condition necessitated many, many trips to assorted hospitals and clinics, culminating in her three-month stay at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison. The Paloucek's were committed to being at her side each and every day and made the drive there and back for the duration of her lengthy stay as well as the seemingly countless trips made in the months preceding.

A great number of our dear friends have asked if there is any way they could help ease the financial burden of our circumstances. We have been in a whirlwind the past year. Medical and travel expenses, automobile repairs (including replacement) have been particularly challenging.

It is humbling to assemble a post like this and that is why offers for financial assistance usually resulted in changing the subject. Enough people have encouraged us to put forward this effort that we thought we would offer the opportunity.
