Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to help raise millions of dollars for incredible causes like Cycle for Survival, MMRF, JDRF, ASPCA, and many others. Giving back has always been close to my heart.

This time, however, it’s more personal.

With Mom’s passing, we’ve decided to honor her memory in a way that truly reflects her love and compassion. Instead of flowers or donations to large organizations, we’re asking that any contributions be made in support of my nephew, Jonathon Pennino.

Years ago, Jonathon was involved in a life-altering car accident that left him in a coma, ending with a traumatic brain injury. Since then, he has improved but requires 24/7 care, which has been my sister Lucy’s full-time job. My Mom adored Jonathon, and despite having very little, she wished to leave what she could to help care for him.

By supporting Jonathon, you’re not only helping someone we know and love—we’re also celebrating the generous spirit of my Mom.
