Hi, my name is Arely. On July 2, 2023 my beautiful 56 year-old mother received heart-breaking news that she has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It had metastasized to her liver and lymph nodes. She found out after admitting herself to the ER after not being able to control pain that she had in her gallbladder and lower back. It was then that a CT scan was done and the nightmare began. For those of you who know Maria (Lulu) like some friends called her, you know she was an extraordinary human being. She was cheerful, loving, unbelievably strong and always put her me her only daughter friends and family before herself.

Since receiving the news, my mom stayed true; her strength was admirable and her desire to fight this awful disease, immense. Though the process was tough and very painful she fought through. Everyday was a battle she was in excruciating pain. The strong medication on her final days kept her asleep and unable to communicate but she would be able to listen. She left this world in peace with family at her bedside and I got to hold her hand until she took her last breath. 8/2/2023 @ 11:43pm. It was my honor to be able to care for my mother and to be able to guide her soul into paradise with our Heavenly Father.

I will miss her so much.

Hola, me llamo Arely. El 2 de julio de 2023, mi hermosa madre de 56 años recibió la desgarradora noticia de que tiene cáncer de páncreas en estadio 4. Había hecho metástasis en su hígado y ganglios linfáticos. Se enteró después de admitirse en la sala de emergencias después de no poder controlar el dolor que tenía en la vesícula biliar y la parte baja de la espalda. Fue entonces cuando se hizo una tomografía computarizada y comenzó la pesadilla. Para aquellos de ustedes que conocen a María (Lulu) como la llamaron algunos amigos, saben que era un ser humano extraordinario. Ella era alegre, cariñosa, increíblemente fuerte y siempre me puso a su única hija, amigos y familia antes que ella.

Desde que recibió la noticia, mi madre se mantuvo fiel; su fuerza era admirable y su deseo de luchar contra esta terrible enfermedad, inmenso. Aunque el proceso fue duro y muy doloroso, ella luchó. Todos los días era una batalla, ella estaba con un dolor insoportable. La fuerte medicación en sus últimos días la mantuvo dormida e incapaz de comunicarse, pero podría escuchar. Ella dejó este mundo en paz con su familia junto a su cama y le tomé la mano hasta que dio su último aliento. 8/2/2023 a las 11:43 p.m. Fue un honor para mí poder cuidar a mi madre y poder guiar su alma hacia el paraíso con nuestro Padre Celestial.

La extrañare por siempre hasta que nos volvamos a ver.
