In Memory of Makana

As you may know by now, our friend Von Pilkinton (Von Lono) is losing the light of his life, six year old Makana. Makana was involved in a drowning incident on Saturday, October 27th. The doctors and nurses at Kapiolani Children's Hospital have done all they could but, sadly, the impact to his brain was too severe. He and Makana's mother have decided to donate his organs so that Makana can continue spreading joy and love vicariously through other children.
We want to help Von with the medical expenses, which are certain to be extensive as it included a medical transport from Hilo to the children's hospital. Our hope is to cover this financial burden so that it is one less thing for him to worry about in the weeks and months ahead. Given this tragedy, Von will need some time to grieve and, as he expressed, to find a new way forward without his beautiful boy by his side.
While many of us have not met Makana, we watched him grow through Von's eyes ... he will forever be our little Super Hero.
