In Memory of Luz Esmeralda Herrera

It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my amazing mother, Luz “Lucy” Esmeralda Herrera. A beloved mother, grandmother, partner, sister, and friend to many. After battling cancer for almost 2 years, she has finally decided it was time for her to pass into the afterlife. She was truly a magical woman whose presence graced our lives with love, light, and an unshakable spirit.

My mother was a woman of remarkable determination, as she met life's challenges head-on with courage and grace. She reminded us not only how to be strong, but also to find joy and the silver lining in even the hardest situations. Her fierce love for her family and friends was a constant and steady force in all our lives.

Her sass was legendary: a spark of wit and warmth that brought laughter and lightness to every room she entered. Whether it was directed to you, it embodied her compassion and love as it showed you her true version of herself. May we never forget that lovely sass she showed us.

She opened her heart to all, offering kindness without condition, support without question, and love without limit. She was truly one of a kind; unique, beautiful inside and out, and unforgettable in every sense. Someone who truly inspired everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

Her courage taught us resilience, her love taught us strength, and her protection brought us peace. Her magic will continue to shine in the memories we hold, the stories we share, and the lives she touched so deeply.

Though our hearts may be hurt, our minds confused, and our thoughts empty, please remember to fill them back with gratitude for her life and all the moments we were able to share with her when she was here. She will forever be missed and endlessly loved and cherished.

May you rest in peace, my mommy. I love you forever.
