In memory of my dear sister Lucie Tyler

Hi, I am Penny and I have decided I am going to climb a mountain in Croatia that is 350m high.

I am terrified and I thought seeing as this will be such a personal challenge I'd like to use it to raise some funds for two wonderful charities.

The Zee Foundation which helps impoverished and orphaned children in Uganda, and The Jordan Legacy which helps raise awareness and prevent suicide.

I will be doing this in memory of my dear sister and best friend, Lucie Ann Tyler.

Lucie took her own life in 2010, she was a beacon of light for all those around her up until that point in her life when her light just seemed to go out. Lucie was the warmest, funniest, kindest person you would ever meet. She adored children from a young age and after school trained and became a nanny, a very, very good one! It saddens me deeply that she never had the chance to become a mother herself, she would have been incredible.

I know she will be so happy that I am sending half of what is raised over to my friend Balinda Zahara, aka Zarry, who has created The Zee Foundation in Uganda to help as many children as she can. Zarry's strength and positivity remind me of my sister Lucie so much, she has had such a tragic life herself but continues to fight

I also know Lucie would be very happy that the other half will go to The Jordan Legacy, Jordan Philip is the son of Steve Phillip and brother of Danielle Phillip. I read about their charity on Linked In and found it so courageous how they have turned their own tragedy of their dear Jordan taking his own life in 2019 into a force for good. I did not realise how alone I felt in my grief until I met Steve, and what he, Danielle and The Jordan Legacy are achieving makes me feel so much better about the world and my own grief.

So now it is my turn to try and make a small difference.
