In memory of Lisa Beadle
Hi all!
My name is Jacquelyn, and my family and I would love to help Amanda and Kayla, the daughters of Lisa Beadle - a Seaford graduate, and a very incredible special education teacher - raise money to support the Special Education program at Seaford high school. Amanda and Kayla are both Seaford students, and Amanda is a part of the high school best buddies program.
As some of you may know, Lisa passed away just over 7 years ago, after a short, horrific battle against brain cancer. In her short time here on Earth, she made an immense impact on every life she was a part of, especially those special needs.
As an early intervention special education teacher, Lisa worked one on one with many students with various disabilities, though many of her students were diagnosed with autism, a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects how people communicate and interact with others and the world around them. In many cases, children and adults with autism have difficulty communicating, and many are non-verbal or present with a speech delay. After tireless work & tons of love, Lisa had been their "gift" , the light at the end of the tunnel for many autism families - being the teacher that helped guide those students to find their words. Many of these children are now grown & off to college - a true testament to the work that Lisa did.
Many people can attest to the incredible impact she had made in the educational world, as I will share some personal stories from these students and their families.
We are hoping to raise money to carry out Lisa's legacy by supporting the Seaford Special Education program. With your help, we would love the opportunity give ongoing scholarships to students graduating from the CDP class, fundraise for new programs for the students to become a part of, along with the possibility of setting up a memorial garden in Lisa's name, for the special education class to care for.
If you or anyone you know has been impacted by this wonderful woman, please reach out so I can share your story! Our family loves to hear more about the incredible influence she had on so many people.
Let's continue to carry out her legacy and do all things with love. Thank you in advance for all of your support.
