Dear friends family and kind hearts, in lieu of sending flowers I Cheryl Chesser Mullins have organized this gofundme for outstanding expenses; left from the life altering effects of a stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis. I did not have time to start a fundraiser for my husband Lester to help battle this dreadful disease because it escalated all too fast. Confronting such a diagnosis was an overwhelming experience but as a wife I was up for the task. It required me to drop everything and spring into action still while being a mom and grandmother. As an advocate for my husband I had to become a nurse, caretaker, sole provider, and in the end even hospice because he took his last breath as the hospice nurse was pulling into the driveway. I gave him the best of care that a wife could humanly give.
He is at peace now and my job as his caretaker is done. With grief before me and still a life to live ahead with your help and prayers I can now take a breath and focus on healing. From being diagnosed to his untimely passing all happened within a 3 month span. I couldn't afford to take a leave from work and he was in too much pain to continue working. Your donations will be used for any outstanding medical expenses, house hold bills, and some much needed time off work to properly grieve. If you knew Lester you knew he was a great mechanic but in his final days no longer had the strength to service our vehicles so with your help I will be able to get much needed repairs.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and donations they are heartfelt and appreciated. With your help I'll be able to rebuild my mind body and soul so I can come back stronger and continue to advocate for pancreatic research and raise awareness encouraging others to stand up for this critical disease.
Memorial Service will be held October 14, 2023 for 10:00am at Davis Mortuary Services 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La 70072
