My name is Megan Ernst and I am writing to you about the family of one of my closest friends Lesa.
On the early morning of Tuesday August 12th, the Springman and Wright families lost their beautiful mother, wife, daughter and sister Lesa and we lost our wonderful friend. On Friday Lesa had woke up feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms - as we all do, she took some time to rest up and let it go it's course, they had plans to go out to the lake to finish some last minute touches to their lot and enjoy the sunshine, but Lesa was still not feeling up to it so they stayed home. Over the weekend she continued to feel unwell but was committed to the fact that she just needed more time to shake it off and that she would be fine. On Monday, she still wasn't better and finally agreed that it was time to get things checked over and was taken to the hospital. Once they hooked up the IV she started to perk up, was laughing and joking with Shayne and her boys but shortly after went into organ failure and her beautiful, kind, loving heart gave out. Shayne, Ashton, Ethan and Aven were with her by her side. We still don't have all of the information, but this is what we know.
Shayne and Lesa just celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary at the end of July, Aven just got his drivers license, Ethan just graduated high school and is set to start university and Ashton was preparing for his internship in Education. She was so very proud of her family.
Lesa loved life, She loved being a mom - a boys mom, a dog mom, a cat mom, a hockey mom, a baseball mom, a football mom, a basketball mom, the team mom…she loved being a wife and she loved her husband, her parents, her siblings, her nieces and nephews fiercely. She loved being a friend. She loved decorating for the holidays and taking pictures, her job at the preschool and her co-workers. She was always thinking of others.
During this unimaginable time we want to come together to support Shayne, Ashton, Ethan and Aven. This fund is being set up to ease the burden they now face - assisting in covering immediate funeral expenses, helping with daily needs and allowing them the space to grieve without added worry. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference for Lesa's loved ones.
Please join us in celebrating Lesa's life on Saturday August 23rd at 10am at Acadia-McKagues Funeral Chapel - 915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon. Following the funeral service will be a burial at Woodlawn Cemetery - 1502 2nd Avenue, Saskatoon.
