We’ve been here before but things look a little different this time.

Laurie passed early this week after fighting so hard for many years. Her battle with ovarian cancer started in 2020 in the height of COVID. In 2021, she went into remission and we breathed for a while. In December of 2023, she began her fight again. Ultimately, she lost her battle when she became sick with pneumonia.

Our mom was many things; a warrior, loving, funny, a big weirdo. Most of all she was blessed. Everyday, she talked about how blessed she felt surrounded by friends and family and her pets.

Today, we found out she did not have life insurance. We are struggling to come up with resources to pay for her funeral. Of all the things she gave us, we feel it is important to give her a proper service.
