In Memory of Larenz Fondren: Funeral Support
Donation protected
Our dear Larenz Lamaar Fondren, a 19-year-old upcoming LVN with such immense promise, tragically lost his life on May 2, 2025, at 6:43 am- just 34 days shy of his birthday- due to the reckless actions of an unlicensed and intoxicated driver, Antonio Dominguez Medrano. As the drunk driver attempted to flee the scene, bystanders stopped him.
Larenz was full of hope and ready to begin his day as a nursing intern at the Meadows Ridge Care Center. As he was crossing Washington Ave. near a busload of school children, the intoxicated driver struck him at a devastating speed of over 78 mph. Larenz tried to evade the impact, yet the driver’s cruelty left Larenz fatally injured, shattering his skull. The horror of that moment was compounded when Larenz’s parents arrived to find their beloved son lifeless, a heart-wrenching sight that no family should ever have to endure.
Even while managing his sickle cell diagnosis, Larenz embraced every facet of life with passion. He shined on the football & baseball field, excelled in track & field, pursued nursing with dedication, and generously shared his wisdom as a mentor at his church, among countless other uplifting endeavors. Larenz’s smile, charisma, and humor were constant reminders of the life he gifted to everyone around him.
On May 2, 2025, his family and our community experienced an unspeakable loss. In memory of Larenz’s bright spirit and to help his grieving family during this devastating time, we humbly ask for your support. Every contribution, no matter the size, will provide comfort and dignity to his loved ones as they say goodbye to a truly remarkable soul. Please join us in honoring Larenz by helping to ease the financial burden of his farewell.
On behalf of Larenz’s father, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your support during this difficult time. The funds raised will be used to ensure that Larenz is laid to rest in a manner that truly reflects the vibrant, loving spirit with which he lived—surrounded by celebration, joy, and the people he touched so deeply.
Your generous donations are going directly toward covering the funeral expenses, helping us honor my nephew Larenz with the beautiful homegoing he deserves. We are close to reaching our goal, and once it is met, the funds will be provided to his father to carry out this meaningful tribute.
