I am creating this fundraiser in loving memory of my husband, Dr. Leland David Katz, known to so many as Lanny, who passed away on July 24, 2026. For the last 20 years, Lanny was my companion in life, and his loss has left a profound void in my heart, in our family, and in the communities he belonged to.

Lanny lived a full and deeply meaningful life. He was an admirable dentist, a LACMA art docent, and an audiophile. He was also someone who found joy in art, wine, fine food, travel, teaching, and thrifting. Above all, he was known for his generosity, his curiosity, and the way he shared life’s pleasures with the people around him. He created connection, laughter, and unforgettable memories, and his presence touched so many lives.

This fundraiser is being created in lieu of flowers as a way to honor Lanny’s memory. Donations will go toward floral arrangements in his remembrance. While there is no urgent deadline, this is a meaningful way for those who cared about him to show their love and support.
