Kyle wanted to be a teacher since he was in the 3rd grade. Throughout his career in education in Solano and Yolo County, he provided a voice for special populations including students with disabilities, the underprivileged and foster youth. Kyle was able to do this both as a teacher and later as an advocate. The mission of Progress Ranch mirrors Kyle’s desires for students. It provides a safe, structured, supportive environment for foster youth. At one time Kyle and another special education teacher discussed opening a similar facility in Woodland. Your donation will honor his memory and help continue the work he loved. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Operating since 1976, Progress Ranch is an intensive treatment program providing high quality mental health services to boys, ages 6-14, who, as a result of dysfunctional family relationships, are unable to function in a normal home environment.
The program is provided within a safe, warm, home-like setting with individualized short-term clinical services and trauma informed therapy within an environment that is free from harassment and discrimination based on actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, race or religion. Initial and ongoing assessment insures that services are appropriate to age and developmental level. Progress Ranch maintains close connections with child welfare services, community organizations, educational services, mental health services, along with cultural and religious supports.
