To know her was to love her. She could light up a room with her smile and warm your heart with her laugh. A spunky attitude and a giving heart. She was always a listening ear when you needed and a wingman for a good time. That was my cousin. That was Kia.

She was a daughter, a sister, a niece, an aunt, a cousin and most importantly a mother. Kia was a person with a family, friends and loved ones. She was a person who was taken from those who loved her by senseless and irrational violence.

The unexpected loss of her life leaves her family devastated and unprepared. We are reaching out to those who had the privileging of hearing her laughing, seeing her simile, enjoying a meal, or being able to share time and space with her to help lessen the unfortunate financial burden that this loss brings.
