On January 2, 2021, Kevin Gallegos Lopez passed away unexpectedly at the age of 25 due to a devastating stroke.
Kevin was born in Mexico and grew up in Pleasanton, California. He attended Valley View Elementary School, Pleasanton Middle School and Foothill High School where he was a member of the Falcon’s Wrestling Team. He recently graduated with a degree in Public Health Sciences from California State University, Chico and was working at Axis Community Health Clinic with a goal to work with special needs children.
When Kevin was young, he told his mother Erica that he wanted to be a superhero. As a DACA student, he was proud to be a Dreamer who was living the American Dream. He wanted the children in his community to have the same opportunity he had to learn, play sports and never fall behind. When he was around children he motivated them to study and do well in school. Kevin inspired them and explained that if he was able to graduate from college, they could too. Kevin truly lived up to the superhero title to his younger siblings Maria, Angel, Dyllan, and all of the children in his neighborhood who looked up to him. Today, he became a hero to countless more recipients and their families as he donated his organs to those in need.
Please help us in offering our love and support to Kevin’s mother, Erica Gallegos, and her surviving children, Maria, Angel and Dyllan. Over the years, Erica has worked tirelessly to support her family, her community and the broader community of Pleasanton in so many loving ways. It is now time for our community to return the love she has invested in our community and stand with her. Kevin will remain forever in our hearts and will be undeniably, deeply missed. Kevin nació en México y creció en Pleasanton, California.
