On May 3rd, 2018 My Ken was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Adenocarcinoma that metastasized to his liver. Three days prior to Ken's diagnosis he started a "dream job" as a psychotherapist with life insurance benefits, short term/long term disability, health insurance, and many more benefits. Due to the severity of Ken's diagnosis he had to stop working. Because he only worked three days Ken was not entitled to any benefits and his job stopped.
Ken suffered terribly from chemotherapy due to a diagnosis of CLL (Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia) several years prior. Ken's blood levels could not be stabilized and his last treatment was on October 30th, 2018. From there he declined, nothing else could be done and he passed on January 16th, 2019. I was his sole caregiver and watched him waste away day by day because swallowing became more and more difficult. Ken suffered terribly and the end was agonizing. I am lost without him as he was my soul mate and best friend.
With no life insurance or benefits and the fact that I could not look for a job while taking care of Ken I am in terrible financial hardship. I was torn about a Go Fund Me page, but decided that this was my only hope. I would appreciate any help from my friends to enalble me to take care of the accumulated debt I am accruing and have accrued while Ken was so ill. I am now avidly looking for a job, If anyone knows of a job opening please message me.
