In Memory of Ken Beatus

Donation protected
It is with the heaviest heart that we share that our dear husband, brother, father, son, uncle and friend, Ken Beatus, lost his 2 month battle with cancer on January 8th, 2020 at 40 years old.

Those who know Ken knew he had a passion for life, travel, food, music, Bay Area sports teams-Go Bears + A's + Warriors, friends, good beer, and most importantly his family.  His family meant the world to him, and he was an incredibly devoted father and husband.

When Ken found out he had limited time remaining due to the aggressive cancer diagnosed in November, he told us he wasn't ready to go. He still had a bucket list of places to visit with his 9 year old son Ryan and wife Angelica.  The number one item on that list was returning to Japan -- the place he and his wife Angelica met,  fell in love, and lived for 3 years teaching english.  He wanted to share his love of travel and Japan with Ryan.

For Christmas, when he was no longer able to walk and the cancer was taking over his body, we gave him a beautiful picture book of Japan so that he could share the beauty of Japan with Ryan from his bed.

The night Ken left us, his wife Angelica told me, his sister Liz,  that she is going to save money so she can take Ryan to Japan one day for Ken.  She wants to be able to show him the place his parents met and fell in love, the place Ryan has been asking about for years.

We want to make this a reality for Ryan and Angelica. We want to send them on a trip to Japan in memory of Ken and to spread some of his ashes while there.

Please feel free to contribute any amount to make this trip happen in memory of Ken.  Your contribution will make you part of this loving adventure and experience for Ryan. Anything more will go directly to Angelica as she rebuilds her life as a preschool teacher in Berkeley without Ken.  We want to lift her, Ryan, and Farid up to thrive financially during this difficult time.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and love.

Liz Beatus Devlin (Ken's sister), and ALL of his dear friends and family.
