Our community is grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Kawandy Dixon, a man who was deeply loved as a father, friend, and colleague.
On September 7, 2025, while attending a family funeral in Trinidad, Kawandy’s life was tragically cut short when he was shot while on the phone. He was pronounced dead at 11:40 p.m. The news of his passing has left everyone who knew him in shock, disbelief, and devastation.
Kawandy was more than just the tragedy that took his life. He was a man full of love, laughter, and kindness. At Jewel Human Services, where he worked, he was known as someone who brought light into the lives of individuals with disabilities and everyone around him. He cared deeply about his work by addressing the staff's concerns. But above all, Kawandy was a dedicated father to his three children. His most immense joy was being their dad. Everything he did—every sacrifice he made—was for them.
Now, in the wake of this unthinkable loss, his three children face a future without their father’s love, protection, and guidance. No child should have to grow up without their parent, and no family should have to bear this kind of pain alone.
This GoFundMe has been created to support Kawandy’s children during this difficult time. The funds raised will go toward:
• Covering immediate living expenses for the children
• Providing long-term stability as they adjust to life without their father
• Ensuring love surrounds them and the support that Kawandy would have wanted for them
We ask you, from the bottom of our hearts, to consider donating. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or a message of support, every act of kindness makes a difference. Kawandy’s memory will live on in his children, and with your help, we can ensure they feel the same love and care he gave so generously. Please join us in standing with Kawandy’s family. Together, we can honor his life and help create a brighter future for his three children.
