This beautiful young lady is my daughter, Katie Anderson with her loves Casey and Mary Elizabeth.

Hi Everyone, I’m Melissa.

For the last 32 years, I had the great pleasure of being Katie Anderson’s Mom. I would give anything to have another 32 years with her... my precious Kate passed away unexpectedly on December 21, 2024 leaving behind her 7 month old daughter Mary Elizabeth and loving boyfriend, Casey. To say our world is shattered is an understatement, Katie was the glue that held everything together. She was my shadow and most favorite person on the planet.

Kate was born with several congenital heart defects and underwent three open heart surgeries over the course of her life and was due for a fourth. Rather than dwelling on what she couldn’t do, Katie lived life to the fullest. She was the most kindest and loving person I know. She was a friend to everyone and loved by many. Her extended family is enormous because everyone who met Kate loved her and “adopted” her into their family. She was a bright light and knew exactly what to say or do when any one needed a pick me up or some encouragement.

On May 20th, I had the honor of watching my sweet daughter become a Mom herself. Kate spent every waking moment doting on Mary Elizabeth and making sure her every need was tended to. Kate has always been a great caretaker. She would get up early to make Casey breakfast and made sure he never left the house without a hot cup of coffee to go ( his favorite).

To put it simply, Kate was the best and will be dearly missed. This fund is to help support and take care of her daughter, Mary Elizabeth.
