Merrick Trager recently lost his wife of 42 years to multiple myeloma. Kathy was a beloved member of her community who selflessly gave her time to the PTAs of Lake St. George Elementary and Carwise Middle Schools. She joined the staff at Lake Saint George over 20 years ago and worked tirelessly with children of high needs. She treated these children as her own. She was a loving and devoted mother to her only child, Kyle.

When Kathy was born in 1951, she weighed only one pound. Her premature birth left her with only one permanent defect, which was the loss of sight in one eye. When they moved from NY to FL, Kathy made sure they bought a home within walking distance so she could walk Kyle to school every day. Merrick traveled often, so he was unable to help with transportation to and from school. Kathy was a kind, gentle, and generous soul who was a light shining on everyone around her. She would always remember the birthdays of teachers' children and make them little treats throughout the year.

Merrick now finds himself on a fixed income and has incurred many medical expenses that were not covered by insurance over these last difficult months. Please join me in donating any amount you can; it would be appreciated.
