In Loving Memory of Kathleen Henderson
Donation protected
Tam & I, with have decided to start this fundraiser to help Wez, Sarah, Kaisey, Angus & Tom after the sudden and unexpected loss of their wife & mother, their matriarch, Kathleen.
On the 23rd of February, the family woke to find that Kathleen had passed in her sleep. Kathleen has always been known to be a fighter, through any hardships or illness, she always battled through and conquered. So, for the family to wake that morning was a completely devastating shock. Kathleen was their core, their centre, their everything. She organised their whole lives to perfection not only for them but for so many within her life and community.
Kathleen's unexpected and tragic loss has sent waves of grief through many communities as she was dedicated to anything and everything. Always the first to raise her hand to help, to volunteer, and to plan and prep for any occasion or event weeks in advance, always first on site to last to leave. Making sure everything was done, to perfection.
Wez & Kathleen have battled many hardships over the years together, but this has never stopped them. Hardships like Kats cancer battle, losing their houses in Cyclone Seroja and their absolutely devastating loss of Wade just to name a few. Through everything they've endured they never stopped fighting to keep their dreams alive and put their children, grandchildren, family, friends, extended “grandchildren” and their communities first above themselves. During these times not once did they ask for any form of help or assistance from anyone. They strived and pushed harder. So now we feel it is time for us to put out a hand of help on behalf of them.
In owning a small family business taking time off work to grieve is simply not viable for Wez. Therefore, any donation big or small will go a long way to help Wez & the kids to not only cover some of the unexpected expenses to give Kathleen the perfect farewell, but hopefully also take even just a little financial pressure off of him for the next few months. Whilst we know this won’t take away their pain, we hope it can help them breathe a little easier, allow them some time to stop to heal and be able to just spend some quality time together rebuilding their world.
We appreciate you taking the time to read this for the family and encourage you to please share this within your friends and the communities whose lives were forever enriched by the friendship and love that came with knowing our beloved Kathleen.
