Karen Maria Ward, 65, passed away surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Karen graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School, where she excelled in band and played volleyball, showcasing her vibrant spirit and dedication.
For many years, Karen lived in Moorestown, where she worked in the Moorestown School District for over 30 years, leaving a lasting impact on students and staff alike. A devoted mother of two, mother in-law, grandmother of three, and great-grandmother of two, she cherished her family above all else.
Karen faced numerous health challenges throughout her life, being diagnosed with lupus at the young age of 22. Despite receiving multiple kidney transplants and enduring years of dialysis, she exemplified strength and resilience. Her unwavering determination and stubborn spirit inspired all who knew her.
Known for her loving and caring nature, Karen was also an amazing cook, delighting family and friends with her culinary creations. Her kitchen was often filled with the aroma of her favorite dishes, bringing everyone together around the table.
Karen had a unique ability to bring laughter and joy into the lives of others. She will be remembered not only for her strength but also for her kindness, humor, and the warmth she shared with everyone.
Karen leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and delicious meals that will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
