Karen is my best friend's mother and a person who is dear to my heart. Last September she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and began treatment. She was so strong and was the most positive person I have ever seen go through such a tough treatment. She was determined to beat this and nothing was stopping her. It was then time, after a rough 12 rounds of chemo to have her scan. There they found that the cancer did indeed shrink and everyone couldn't be more optimistic in her recovery. Then COVID hit and treatment had come to a stop do to the concern for her safety being so immunocompromised. Then within just 3 short months the cancer came back with a vengeance and spread throughout her whole entire body. Even then, Karen's positive attitude never faltered. Sadly, on August 20th after many stays in the hospital and many tears shed, Karen lost her battle to cancer. My friend and her family lost the most caring, selfless, most positive woman in their lives. No words can be said to comfort her during this time but the one thing I was hoping to do was to help relieve some financial stress for her and her family. We all know funeral costs are out of this world and on top of that responsibility, Tara is now the primary care giver of her 19 year old sister who has special needs who cannot live and care for herself. They have also now been thrown into being new home owners without warning and have to financially deal with this. My wish is that I can help my friends out with this gift of your generosity. The littlest amount is the biggest help and we all would be forever grateful for your kindness.
