We are writing you today to let you know about the loss of a loved one. On April 22nd 2022, the earth lost a kind soul but Heaven gained an angel--Karen Dixon (60) passed away on Friday, April 22th 2022 at the Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg West Virginia from heart complications. Karen is survived by her husband Timothy, sister Pattie, nephews Jessie and James Jr, and niece Phyllis and Kellie.

 

Karen will be remembered for her unwavering passion, sharp wit, and willingness to help others by contributing her time and efforts to family, friends, church and community. Despite being born in the winter, Karen loved nature, going for walks and being out in her garden. The outdoors was where Karen wanted to spend most of her time, whether she was birdwatching, heading to a farmer's market, or planning a trip to see the ocean.

 

Karen's family is devastated by her passing and are struggling to find the funds to cover the cost needed to pay Karen's final respects. Due to the restrictions set in West Virginia, the county where she died must be the county where her service is held - which means Karen's family must choose a funeral home in Berkeley County. The average cost of funeral service is anywhere from 2,500 and 9,000.

 

Karen's husband Timothy will be organizing the service and memorial as well as covering the funeral service, service fees, casket/urn, permits, certificates, and memorial. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will contribute to any number of costs associated with this tragic event and allow Karen's family to provide a proper funeral service, offering one final goodbye that Karen deserves.
