The celebration continues for our Mom, Tutu, Aunty Sister, Forever Friend…Julei Nanihala Naone-Kaiwi
We seek your kokua (help) and Kokoo (support) to complete the process of Mom’s wishes…
In California, we are continuing to raise funds to purchase her graveside marker that will match our brother, Shawn.
Your support to see this through would be amazingly helpful.
For the past five years, Hana Bay was Mom/Tutu’s “happy place” where she walked every day. This is where she discovered her love for capturing photos of the beauty of Hana, she talked story with friends along the way, welcomed visitors, and visited her sea turtle friends at the wharf!
Julei Nanihala Naone-Kaiwi passed away in Hana on Maui, her childhood home. She returned to Hana after raising her family in California for over 50 years. In her final years she lived a life of joy surrounded by a community of lifelong friends and family. She was finally HOME and loving every moment of it. While she was in California, she was a great strength of support to so many!
She absolutely loved her mo’opuna- Emma Leihala, Mailey Jade and Jaxxon Kekoa and her three iwa—Andrene, Shawn and Kaipo.
A Celebration of Life took place in Orange County, California on Thursday January 25, 2024. The day was beautiful. See photos posted throughout this platform.
A Celebration in Hana will take place Sunday, March 10 at Helene Hall in Hana Bay. Please join if you are able!
