Hi, my name is Adam, and I am fundraising on behalf of my little brother, Jude, who we tragically lost on 31st December 2025 due to a short illness that came completely out of the blue — streptococcal pneumonia meningitis.

A little bit about Jude:

Jude was diagnosed at 12 months old with a rare chromosome disorder which affected his mobility and many other things, including autism.

Jude was a very special little boy who faced almost impossible challenges from the very start. However, he was a fighter who defied all predictions for his future, and together our family battled through every obstacle.

He made astonishing progress, growing into a wonderful little dude who brought unbridled joy to everyone who knew him — along with a very healthy obsession with The Beatles!

Jude was the most beautiful little boy, with a contagious smile and the happiest personality. He had an incredible way of lighting up every room and positively shaping the people around him.

During the Christmas period, Jude suddenly became unwell. He was taken to hospital after having a seizure at home. He was also paralysed on his left side, and the doctors decided to place him into a medically induced coma so they could carry out scans. Within a few hours, we were told he had a severe brain infection and that they didn’t think he would survive. His immune system couldn’t cope with the infection this time, and it crossed the blood-brain barrier, causing meningitis. Just 24 hours earlier, he had been perfectly well.

It was the worst possible news any parents could hear.

Despite the best efforts of the hospital staff and the unwavering support of our family, we were faced with the heartbreaking decision to take Jude off life support, as there was no brain activity. We said goodbye to him on New Year’s Eve. His passing was sudden and has been incredibly difficult for all of us — the most horrendous time imaginable.

As a family, we came together to give Jude the best send-off we could — one filled with colour, laughter, and fun — just as he was in life.

We are now hoping to raise funds to create a beautiful and meaningful space for Jude at his final resting place — exactly how he would want it, filled with all his special interests and the things that meant so much to him.

Anyone who knew Jude will remember how he would say “ugh ugh ❌️” if something wasn’t quite right or was out of place.

Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. We want to give Jude the very best, just as he gave us the most wonderful five years of our lives.
