This page is dedicated to the memory of Joseph Mendoza.  On Monday August 5th, a beloved father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend was lost to a tragic act of violence.

After 23 years of waiting, Joseph’s long-time dream of coming to America finally came true. He migrated to California 6 years ago from the Philippines.  He was excited to start this bright new chapter in his life and wanted nothing more than to simply work and make a better living with his family here.

Sadly, while Joseph was waiting At the bus station on the 800 block of Airport Blvd. in South San Francisco, to begin his morning commute, he was brutally attacked and lost his life at the hands of a repeated criminal. In an instant, his loved ones lives were changed forever.  He leaves behind his wife-Theresa, Son- Marvin, Daughters- Janice, Jobelle, Jaycee, and their families.

If you knew Joseph, at all, you were lucky beyond measure. His whole life was dedicated to loving his family, church, and his friends. He was a sweet man, known for his unfailing gentle spirit, perpetual smile, and concern for others. Not only was he a loving father to his children, but over the years he along with his wife Tess, raised many of his other nieces and nephews, making all of us feel like their very own children through his deep care, involvement and profound love.  Everyone he came in contact always felt special and admired. He had a zest for life and music but was a simple man who found joy and appreciation for the little things in life.

The whole Mendoza family has been devastated from the loss, as we can never prepare ourselves for such an unimaginable tragedy, but outpour of love, support and prayers has provided some comfort for the family.

Many people have reached out asking how they can help beyond thoughts and prayers. So we have set up this page as a way to assist with the heavy costs of funeral services, legal costs to help fight for justice for Joseph and to alleviating some of the financial stress as they adjust to a life without Joseph in it.

God bless you all for your continued prayers, comfort, hope and love.  Please share the link with all of your friends and family and help us ensure Joseph’s family is taken care of even after his passing.
