In Loving Support of Jose (Luis) Rodriguez: Cherished by All

It is with profound sadness, that we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden loss of Jose (Luis) Rodriguez who unexpectedly passed away in his sleep on the morning of March 3rd, 2025. Jose was a true Chicagoan through and through. He was born, raised and lived all his life on the Northside of Chicago. He attended and graduated Roosevelt High School; this is where he met many of his lifelong friends. From there, he attended the University of Chicago at Illinois, where he graduated in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

Jose was a loving person. He devoted his life for the wellness of his family and friends and was the happiest when he was around them. Outside of school, we had the pleasure of sharing many experiences with him on road trips, especially singing emo music along the way, seeing different parts of the world, going to parties, sharing drinks, and playing basketball. He also had a special love of collecting sneakers and was always rocking his latest find. We went through life together, sharing both high and low moments. At gatherings, he enjoyed making jokes and keeping the vibe positive with his fun stories. No matter what, Jose was always there for everyone around him.

Jose's love of people is what made him truly special. He accepted and cared for everyone. Jose was a loving son, caring brother, funny uncle, and amazing friend to all. He welcomed anyone into his home with open arms. Above all, he loved his family deeply, making sure they knew how much they meant to him. He was also a caretaker of his mother for several years.

Jose made this world a better place just by existing in it. His witty jokes and smile lit up the room. While his loss is felt with much pain and sorrow, his kindness and love will be remembered forever. We are forever grateful to have known him, and we will carry his memory with us always.

We are absolutely devastated at the sudden loss of our beloved Jose's and are making an appeal for contributions on that will help cover his funeral service and end of life costs.
