In Memory of Jordan E. Carruth
Hi everyone, this is Kyle and Krystyna. We're very close friends to Jordan and the Carruth family. We're raising money to help support the Carruth family in their time of need, to cover funeral expenses, flight costs (as Jordan passed away in Florida), and other losses from this tragedy. All of the money collected will be given to the parents of Jordan.
Jordan lived his life to the fullest. Never shy of adventuring out of his house, he could be seen in Elmhurst and much of the surrounding area. Beside adventuring, Jordan was a very outgoing person. As you can read from the Facebook post of the Carruth family, he was not shy to approach someone. Many may have considered an encounter with him lucky, because he brought so much joy with his appearance. Despite the hardships he has fought through his life, he has always been able to put a smile on peoples faces. Jordan and his sister went to Jackson Elementary school in Elmhurst, some of you may remember their kind faces from that time.
Here is said post;
Many of you know, and other friends are starting to learn, about the death of our son Jordan on Tuesday night. He was just 17 years old, with so much life ahead of him. All signs point to a tragic accident, in a residential pool.
Jordan was famous on Facebook early-on for his "Jordanisms," which made us all chuckle, and marvel at the wisdom contained in his random thoughts.
As he matured, his musings matured with him, and he became a kind, gentle young man with a sharp honesty and angelic compassion rolled together.
He was the kid who could, and would, talk to anyone, without pretense, and with a genuine concern for how they were doing on any given day.
The two of us traveled countless miles to BMX League sessions in several states. He was my photo assistant and chief number plate laminator, shirt folder, rider pack stuffer, car loader/unloader, "football" holder, and the guy who would do whatever job needed doing, (mostly) without complaint.
Many didn't know that he was a person of deep faith. (Jordan's mom) was his spiritual mentor, and she showed him the way to The Lord. Jordan took the teachings of his mother and The Church into his soul, for eternity.
One of his last stories involves him ministering to a pair of elderly ladies at the condo complex where he was staying. He got them both to join Spotify to listen to the "The Bible in a Year Podcast," and secured their commitment to doing it for the full 365.
The effect of his efforts— with them, and with us all— will live beyond his time on this Earth. God has his plans, and we know Jordan is with Jesus now.
That give us comfort, but the hole in our hearts, and the empty seat at our table, will never be filled. We will miss him terribly for as long as we live.
There will be a funeral mass for him at some point in the near future (Chicago area). We will keep everyone posted on those details, as they become available.
We greatly appreciate the outpouring of support, prayers and love all of our friends have shown us in these past hours--from literally all over the world. Thank you all.
