On September 4, 2025, Johnathan Anderson passed away suddenly at age 34. John was a first-year apprentice with Pipefitter’s Local 597 in Chicago, Illinois. John was a very motivated young man and wanted nothing more than to become an excellent service technician. I and many others had the pleasure of getting to know John. He was driven to excel at work and wanted to seize every opportunity to better himself.
John was looking forward to attending classes this fall and learning more about our trade. It is absolutely heartbreaking to see this young man’s life cut far too short.
While speaking with John’s family, I learned that John valued his work and position within Pipefitter’s LU 597 far more than I already knew. Coming from a family of tradesmen, John put immense value and effort in his work.
In this most difficult time for John’s family, I am hoping to raise funding to support some of their financial needs. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
Other than LinkedIn, I do not have other social media to share this link. Please share this amongst our Union Brothers and Sisters. I’m hoping to raise enough money to cover burial expenses for John.
After a week, I will ensure funds are received by John’s parents, Arthur and Cheryl Anderson.
