In Memory of John W. Lounsbury

John Lounsbury passed away on June 4, 2020 after a prolonged illness. John had originally set aside a large sum of money to care for Kirsten if he were to die. Due to circumstances related to John’s prolonged illness, all the wealth John had accumulated was gone at the time of his death.
Kirsten has been living in a nursing home in Portland, Oregon. since December 2017. Her nursing care is paid for by Medicaid. Medicaid rules stipulate that Kirsten can only receive $64.13 each month from her monthly Medicaid stipend. The rest of her monthly Medicaid stipend goes to the nursing home where she lives.
Kirsten recently returned to the nursing home after being hospitalized for nearly two months for various serious medical issues. Kirsten has no other assets and the only money she has access to is the $64.13 she receives each month.
Medicaid rules stipulate that Kirsten can’t have more than $2,000 in checking or savings accounts. Any money raised through the GoFundMe campaign for Kirsten will be set aside for incidental needs. Kirsten won’t have access to the money raised in this GoFundMe campaign. Her brother and her uncle will use these funds to improve her quality of life, purchasing any incidentals she might need in the coming years.
We hope the amount of money raised in this campaign will serve as a testament to the love that John felt for both his children.
