John D. Sly
06/30/62 - 05/14/25
My name is Patricia Sly, and I am the little sister of John Sly.
My brother John passed away at his home in Heritage Ranch, Paso Robles, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in the early afternoon, just hours after being discharged from French Hospital in San Luis Obispo.
He was sitting on his couch, surrounded by loved ones, including his wife of over 30 years, Amanda, and his eldest daughter, Tiffany.
In a moment, he was gone.
At 62, his life was cut short, leaving us heartbroken and seeking answers. His wife's swift actions and the medics' efforts were valiant, but John was gone. We are now navigating this immense loss together.
This GoFundMe aims to support our family in covering the costs of an autopsy to understand the cause of John's passing, as well as medical bills from his recent three week hospital stay and surgery.
Your contribution will help us find closure, and help his family through their time of shock and grief.
John returned home around 12:45 pm and passed away by 4:15 pm. His sudden departure has left us in shock.
Please hold John's wife, children, grandchildren, and our entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
For those who knew John, his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit left an indelible mark. He had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued.
The world has lost an extraordinary individual, but his legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will endure.
John's curiosity and enthusiasm were inspiring. Whenever he didn't know something, he would eagerly seek out answers, and often saying to others such as myself when I asked a question, "Well, did you YouTube it?" His love for learning was contagious.
John's greatest joy was his family. He also cherished camping, traveling, and spending time at the lake. His zest for life was infectious, and he will be deeply missed.
Thank you for your support and kindness.
