In memory of John Nesbitt - Berlin Half Marathon
Jacob, Will, Matt, and I will be joining Stephen on his final race of his SuperHalfs Challenge in April at the Berlin Half Marathon. We will also we raising money for Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital in memory of our dear friend John.
John passed away six years ago in August and to mark this Stephen set out to run the SuperHalfs Challenge in six months, with his final two being run in back to back days.
Sadly john passed away with a undiagnosed heart condition called Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. SADS is an inherited problem with your heart's electrical system, which gives you an abnormal heart rhythm. There are very few warning signs, and if the condition has not been inherited and therefore potential was known, it often goes undetected. In Johns case it was myocarditis which was inflammation of the heart muscle causing the attack
Understandably this had a great effect on all that knew John. Sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS) often goes undetected in young people. This condition is being researched by LHCH and all money raised will contribute to ongoing research and support to prevent further cases going undetected.
Stephen has already done amazingly well raising £2,800 at this stage. We have a personal target of £500 and any donations would be greatly appreciated.
