On Sunday night, March 1st, my 48 year old nephew, John Henry Earl, died in his sleep under suspicious circumstances (carbon monoxide poisoning is one possibility, though nothing has been ruled out pending the autopsy results). He leaves behind three adult children and an 11 year old son, a devoted girlfriend, caring brother, and loving ex wife, among other relatives and friends who cared deeply for him. On the very day he died, John had just completed all the coursework for a MSW degree and was looking forward to continuing to serve those most in need especially from marginalized communities. He was also the primary support for his youngest child, Shasta, to whom he was deeply devoted and with whom he happily spent most of his free time.
