It has been a great honor to know John Fischer. As a fellow sports parent, you knew you could always count on John to be the loudest cheerleader for not only his kids but for all the kids on the team. He loved to volunteer at competitions, drive the kids to games or just be the person to spread joy wherever he was.

On April 9th, John suffered an unexpected severe stroke. The doctors did everything possible upon his arrival at the hospital however, they were not able to save him. Just the day before John had enjoyed some quality family time, doing what he loved, watching Taylor play soccer with Jake at his side.

John's personality, positive energy and generosity were contagious. He was happiest sitting on the sideline of a soccer game, in the stands of a swim meet or just being with both of his kids. Taylor and Jake were the center of his world. Nothing was more important to him than spending time with them and their friends. John was considered a second dad to many of their friends, as he paid for many meals, drove hundreds of miles and just enjoyed listening to their stories and joking around with them.

John was so proud of both of his kids. Taylor is currently finishing up her sophomore year at Adrian University, studying pre med and playing soccer for their varsity team. Jake is a graduating, straight A student, at South Lyon High School and a state level swimmer, planning on majoring in engineering next year at Michigan Tech. They have worked extremely hard both in and out of the classroom, developing into amazing young adults.

In keeping with John's loving and generous spirit, on April 17th he donated the gift of life. We know that if the situation was reversed that John would be leading the way to take care of our families, so it is a great privilege that we organize this for John's family.
