John was an adventurer, he lived life to the fullest! With many passions and experiences that some people only dream of.
Below you will find John's Obituary, sharing his passion for his family, adventure and life!
John A. Eddowes , 58, of Williamstown, NJ. On December 31st. Beloved husband to Agnes, proud father of
Elisabeth, Kathryn, James and Tobias John. Adored son of Alan and the late Elizabeth (née
Storey). Brother of Geoffrey, Rebecca Ganz and Heather Molyneux. Brother in law, uncle,
nephew, cousin and friend.
John’s adventure began in St Helen’s, England where he was born on April 29, 1963. He sailed
to America when he was not yet two years old and hit the shores of this beloved country
running! He was on the move all the time, atop a skate board, bicycle, dirt-bike, motorcycle,
water-skis; in a car, an airplane, a helicopter, a boat or under a parachute. John lived life in
X games mode.
He followed in his fathers footsteps and took up carpentry, eventually starting his own building
company. He was a skilled craftsman and, together with his father, created many beautiful,
well-made homes and buildings in the area.
But John’s passion gradually transitioned from building homes to creating adventures. He
founded, with his partners, a Skydiving school, which he then grew into one of the largest drop
zones in the northeast. He created a skydiving community known and loved by people from all
around the world. He was a pro-rated skydiver, tandem master, AFF instructor and
videographer. Then turned his passion to flying, starting with a small tail-dragger and working
his way into bigger planes, twin engine aircraft and helicopters.
He packed his parachute for good and began flying a news helicopter, even winning an Emmy
for one of the stories captured from his chopper.
John never slowed down, he just shifted gears. He poured his passion into politics, news, food
(especially curry), x box, skiing and -above all- his four kids.
He had a very special connection with each of them; and a fondness for texting photos,
videos, memes and especially links to everything from chicken farming to police chases to
football highlights to rap lyrics. And there was never a conspiracy he didn’t want to bust!
Though his head was always in the clouds, John was grounded in his faith and his family. His
life here has ended but his legacy lives on in his children and his adventure continues with his
Heavenly Father. Blue skies.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Thursday 10:00-11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 AM.
