In Memory of Joey: Aid for His Family's Struggle

With the holiday season upon us, I hope this finds you in good health and spirit. It is with great sadness I share today the tragic and sudden passing of Joe (Joey) Sagaitis. Joey collapsed early Monday evening while at home after suffering a hemorrhage of his brainstem. Despite a rapid response from medical personnel and courageous fight from Joey, he succumbed to his injuries and passed on to the next life early Wednesday afternoon, just one day before Thanksgiving.

Joey is a beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend to many. On any given night he could be found on a local softball diamond, most likely on the pitcher's mound tossing hitters difficult pitches to hit. He enjoyed both competition and camaraderie from the game and will be greatly missed by the softball community. He spoke his mind and wore his heart on his sleeve. His laugh loud, sincere, and contagious. There was an uplifting energy about him; it was hard to be in a sour mood with Joey around. His absence leaves a void in our hearts while he watches from above. He will be dearly missed.

In times of tragedy such as this, an often overlooked and untimely repercussion is financial strain placed on the family. As medical bills and funeral service expenses begin to accumulate, we humbly and graciously ask for your help.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Happy Holidays and God Bless.
