Former Assistant Chief of Police Joel Raul Larralde served the city of Mission, Texas for 33 years as a police officer, corporal, sergeant, and lieutenant. He was a loving husband to Corina and a wonderful father to two children, Joel Jr. and Larissa.
In late July, Joel became sick and was admitted into the hospital with a severe infection. He was released to continue treatment at home with a series of IV's for two weeks. Immediately after his last treatment, he became extremely weak and was admitted to the intensive care unit for an additional two weeks. While in ICU, he underwent an array of tests and received multiple blood transfusions and units of plasma due to an unknown cause of internal bleeding. He suffered multiple complications with his kidneys, blood pressure, and respiratory system without ever getting a definite diagnosis. After fighting several days on life support, he passed on September 5, 2020 at the young age of 56.
We would greatly appreciate any donations to help the family cover unexpected medical expenses as Joel was the sole provider for the family.
