My family arrived from the Philippines last Thursday, October 19th 2023 to finally join me living a new life in Canada. Unfortunately, when they arrived in Vancouver before their connecting flight to Edmonton, my father collapsed and was rushed to the ICU because of the brain injury resulting from the collapse. He was in the ICU of Vancouver General Hospital until his last breath on October 23rd at 2:25AM due to some complications on top of the worsened brain injury. As they have not been registered for Alberta Health, they are not covered for the pending hospital bills for the 4 days on ICU on top of funeral preparations that are done in Vancouver in order for an easy transport home to Edmonton.
