In Memory of Jodie Landers Arvizu
April 8th, 2021. A day like no other, when our lives were profoundly changed, rocked with the news of the violent murder of my beloved sister, Jodie Landers Arvizu. I cannot put into words the pain our family is in as we navigate a world without her infectious laughter, bubbly personality and fierce loyalty to those that were lucky enough to have been a part of her earthly life.
Our lasting memories of Jodie are simple: a hard working, passionate woman with a magnetic personality who never wavered in her fierce advocation for anyone who needed a friend or protector. Her smile was unforgettable and the privilege of her friendship was irreplaceable. A precious friend to many, a much loved sister, aunt, niece, cousin, granddaughter, and most importantly, Jodie was the treasured and cherished mother to her three sons who were unarguably her greatest source of pride and the true loves of her life.
We are raising money to not only help with funeral and life celebration expenses from her incredibly heartbreaking and sudden death, but to also put Jodie’s three sons on the best possible path, making sure that they don’t have to worry about unexpected financial burdens in the midst of their devastating and life-changing circumstances after losing their mother to a senseless act of violence. No child should ever have to bury their mother at such a young age, and under such tragic conditions, facing an uncertain future alone. I am asking for financial help on their behalf so they can focus on grieving and healing prior to confronting the pursuit of justice for Jodie.
