In Memory of Jessica: Support for Aaron Narlock

On Thursday, 12/19/2024, my sister underwent emergency surgery at Renown Hospital in Reno after being transported from Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee. Friday morning, her husband Aaron Narlock and her family were told that she was at a 50% mortality rate and the next 24-48 hours would determine which direction things would go. Saturday morning, when we all arrived at the hospital, we were told that Jessica had declined overnight, her liver had failed, her kidneys were failing, and that she was now at 100% mortality. If we took her off the machines, she would die within minutes. They said we could keep her on the machines, and for the next 24 hours, they would do everything they could to bring her back. Aaron wanted to give her that fighting chance. They gave Jess a blood transfusion and started dialysis. The blood helped, but the dialysis was unsuccessful, and her blood pressure dropped dangerously low. The family gathered at the hospital until 2:00 am, with Dad staying by her side all night, awake and praying. On Sunday, she showed signs of improvement with a successful completion of dialysis and some kidney function returning. Monday, she was classified as critically stable with another successful round of dialysis. We decorated the room Monday night for her birthday on Tuesday. The family visited her Tuesday to celebrate her birthday. They did not do dialysis due to the amount of fluid retention, so she was just being monitored closely throughout the day. Overnight, her blood pressure dropped again, and they fought to bring it up again. They attempted another blood transfusion, but it was not successful in helping her. On Christmas morning, we were told that they were out of options as to what they could do to help her. Her body was in further decline. At 5:10 pm on Christmas, my sister passed away surrounded by her husband, family, and close friends.

I have started this fund in the hopes to help alleviate some of the financial burden from the medical bills and funeral on her husband as he grieves the loss of his partner, his love, his best friend. If you feel so inclined to help, we thank you.
