On Monday morning, I said goodbye to my beloved pup, Jenny — just one week shy of her 14th birthday on June 23rd. It's hard to imagine life without her, but I'm incredibly grateful for the years we had together.

Jenny wasn't just a pet — she was my steadfast companion through some of the biggest transitions of my adult life. A wobbly little rescue from the streets of Philly, she brought calm, chaos, and comfort in all the right measures.

Why I’m Raising Funds:

Over the last few months, Jenny’s health declined due to chronic valvular disease (CVD), a progressive heart condition that eventually led to complications including pulmonary edema. Despite everything we tried — heart medications, vet visits, and emergency care — her condition worsened, and I had to make the incredibly painful decision to say goodbye.

As anyone who’s cared for a senior or chronically ill pet knows, vet bills add up quickly. In Jenny’s final stretch, her care cost nearly $2,800 — including specialist visits, medications, and ER services.
