It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Jennifer Maria. She battled CML courageously until her very last moments with us.
Jennifer was a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend. She dedicated her career to so many as an amazing nurse most recently at New York Presbyterian hospital.
If you knew Jennifer, you loved her. She had the ability to touch your heart, make you laugh and bring out the best part of you.
At this time we ask her friends and loved ones to come together and assist in laying her to rest. We know these are trying times for everyone. We appreciate all you can do including your thoughts and prayers.
Jennifer lived with an undeniable passion for life and we ask that you honor her memory in living your life the same way.
A brave and beautiful soul with the most amazing spirit gone too soon. May you take comfort in knowing her faith was high and she is at peace with God and all her angels. We love you Jennifer and will miss you always.
"She never seemed shattered to me; she was a breathtaking mosaic of the battles she's won."
Update:
Jennifer's family and I would like to thank you all for the love you gave her and continue to give in support of her memory. For those of you who may not know me - My name is Bonnie Lopez-Stafford. Jennifer and I met in high school and have been best friends ever since.
I would like you all to know that the loving donations you have so graciously sent will be applied to all expenses for her funeral, cremation and niche at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx. All remaining funds received will be deposited to a trust she established for her children's education and future needs and which she entrusted me to manage.
Due to these unprecedented times, the funeral will be a private event for her family. We will continue to honor Jennifer and all other healthcare workers in keeping the event small and safe. Thank you for understanding.
We hope to zoom part of the service at and have added the link below. We will update this page with the exact time once confirmed.
