In memory of Jeff Taylor

On May 1st, 2020, tragedy struck when our dear brother, nephew and cousin, Jeff Taylor, was taken from us suddenly. He was the cornerstone of our entire family and our lives will never be the same without him.
On that life changing day, Jeff went to his cottage in the evening to turn on the gas supply for the season and get the place ready for his wife, Robin, and his sister and her family to arrive the next day. It was planned as a much needed get-away and time to reconnect and enjoy the weekend with his loved ones. Those plans would never materialize.
Sometime through the night, as Jeff slept soundly in the bedroom, the cottage inexplicably caught fire and burned to the ground in a blaze so fast and hot that there was little hope for escape. Jeff never made it out, and has left behind Robin and all those that loved him dearly.
This year was to be Jeff and Robin’s 30th wedding anniversary.
Robin’s dream is to re-build the cottage in memory of Jeff. It was their favourite place on earth and a place that brought family and friends together- something that meant more to them (and still means to Robin) more than anything else.
In recent weeks, however, it has been discovered that the cottage was only minimally insured, and will not cover the costs to re-build. Although Robin is trying to figure out a way to move forward, the fear of getting in over her head is extremely daunting, and she is beginning to think that selling the property is the only way…
We would love to help raise some funds as a surprise for Robin, to contribute to the re-building of the cottage in memory of Jeff, and to carry on his legacy of bringing family and friends together to share good times and fun. It would be a place where we could all go to feel closer to him, and to keep his memory strong.
We thank you in advance for your love and support,
Julie, Sue, Sean & Terra
